This is Surfing in Panama

The Lost Coast guides use our three sport boats to take groups to the breaks daily. Each evening we use the 10,000 lb. crane to load the boats on deck and then we motor to our next location. We carry one 19-foot aluminum jet sled and two 24-foot aluminum open ocean runners that get you there fast with 225hp Mercury's. Don't worry about motor problems. The Lost Coast Explorer carries two extra Mercury outboards that can be swapped out in 30 minutes with our crane.

We cruise in the evening after surf so you wake up in an entirely new location ready to tackle the rights and lefts within sight of our anchorage. In the early morning, enjoy a hot cup of fantastic Panamanian coffee on the back deck of the Explorer while watching the white water explode in the distance. It's going to be another day to write home about.

Join us and search for your perfect wave in this raw stretch of coastline. Maybe even look for a new spot you get to name. That's the rule! You find it, you name it. Baron Knowlton recently named one of the heaviest breaks we have found, Barnacles. Granted Barnacles may not be for you, but there are other more friendly breaks like Drifters that offer long, fun rides without consequence. Come on down and enjoy the ride...

Pricing:

6 DAY
6 Day 6 Night Surf Tour, Whole Boat Charter: $23,500.00 (Maximum of 16 guests)
6 Day 6 Night Surf Tour, $1,800 per person

  • Minimum of 2 guests per group with a minimum of 8 guests on board to run a charter
  • First group of surfers to initiate the surf rotation must be a minimum of 6. After first 6 are booked remaining groups added can be a minimum of 2 until target group size of 10 – 14 surfers is reached.
  • Diving cost 200 dollars per day per person subject to availability of dive master, diving days must be consecutive days through trip and must be pre scheduled.
  • Max of 16 guests on the boat either whole boat contracts or smaller combined groups
  • All rates are double occupancy rates (Contact us about single occupancy charges and availability)
  • Rates do not include any hotel fees incurred off the lost coast explorer.

Included in the 6 Day 6 Night Surf Tour package

  • 6 days 6 nights cruising throughout the islands of Coiba National Park and the Azuero Peninsula
  • Transportation aboard one of our 24 foot boats to surf sites and other activities of interest
  • Local, bi lingual, experienced surf guides and watermen
  • Snorkeling tours and snorkel gear
  • Jungle tours in the Coiba National Park
  • Private white sand beach tours with personal umbrella and stocked cooler with your choice of available drinks

  • In shore fishing aboard our 24 foot boats and our 18 foot boat fishing for Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, dorado Cubera Snapper, Rooster Fish, Snook, Travali and other assorted inshore species. (Inshore fishing is an 8 mile radius around the current anchorage site of the Lost Coast Explorer)
  • Surfing, surf lessons, surf boards. (We recommend bringing your own boards as our selection is limited and available primarily for guests who break their own board. If you wish to have boards made for you by a Panamanian shaper and delivered to you upon arrival you can do so with advance notice. Contact us for further information about BOA surf boards.
  • Lodging on one of the 8 guest suites aboard The Lost Coast Explorer
  • Gourmet meals and appetizers
  • Complimentary beer and wine
  • Use of our recreation room with professional card table, and flat screen TV
  • Meet and greet service including:
  • Meet and Greet at Tocumen International Airport
  • Transfers to the hotel of your choice in Panama City upon arrival
  • Transfers back to your hotel in Panama City from landing strip or transfer to Tocumen international airport for departure flight
  • Ground transfers to and from the Lost Coast Explorer
  • $150 per person Coiba national Park Fee

Optional Charter flight

Charter Flights to or from Coiba Island (Coiba National Park) or Tonasi (Azuero Peninsula). These flights will depart Panama City or return to Panama City ($350 per person each way)
This flight package and price is set for you and your group to fly into or out of any of the ports that we will be starting your vacation from or departing from. The arrival or departure port will be determined by the schedule of the Explorer or by the crew of the Explorer to ensure the best surfing opportunities for you and your group. Either of the departure ports will take you to all of the surfing locations during your 6 day surf vacation.

Expenses Not Included in Package Price:

  • Round trip commercial flights to Panama City, Panama
  • Charter flights into Coiba or Tonosi from Panama City.
  • Hotel stay in Panama City or other cities (We will provide a list of recommended hotels with hotel ratings and contact / booking information for your convenience.)
  • Shuttle transfers or taxi fares other than our regular scheduled transfers
  • Any additional expenses incurred while in Panama City or Santiago or other cities
  • Satellite phone use aboard the Lost Coast Explorer ($3.50 per minute)
  • Commercial photography fees or commercial video fees in parks (Inquire about photo or video fees)
  • Contracting sport boats for offshore fishing (target: blue and black marlin, sailfish, and yellow fin tuna, dorado, wahoo). Offshore fishing is: Any distance beyond the 8 mile radius included in your adventure tour package. (Inside the 8 mile line we consider "Inshore Fishing".) For an additional $300 per boat you can arrange a day of offshore fishing aboard one of our 24 foot offshore sport boats as long as the scheduled day of offshore fishing does not interfere with the other surfers use of our boats.
  • Fly- in sight seeing tours (helicopter only)
  • Any additional fuel surcharges deemed necessary by Lost Coast Excursions
  • Guided diving $200.00 per person per day Maximum of 3 dives per day, 2 people minimum.
  • Personal video or photography service for your group (Inquire about pricing)
  • Laundry services aboard the Lost Coast Explorer, ($30.00 per load)
  • Any unscheduled transfers, flights, hotels, etc that are not part of the scheduled itinerary
  • Food, alcohol, tobacco products that are not part of our regular stock aboard the Lost Coast Explorer or exceed our regular stock. If personal requests require shipping or importing of goods that cannot be acquired through our regular suppliers additional charges will be applied accordingly
  • Gratuities for the crew of the Lost Coast Explorer and sport boat crew

Payment and Cancellation Policies:

A non refundable deposit of $900.00 per person on individuals or 30% of a whole boat charter rate is due at the time of booking.

Remaining balance paid in full is due 60 days prior to joining the Lost Coast Explorer. If final payments are not received 60 days prior to departure the space will be considered available for sale and deposits received will be forfeited if the space is sold.

Final Payments must be made prior to joining the Lost Coast Explorer.

If cancellations are made after final payment has been received 50% of the final payment can be transferred to a future vacation not to exceed 1 year from the scheduled date of departure on the Lost Coast Explorer. $900.00 deposit is forfeited.

Customer Information/Waiver Policy

The Customer Information/Waiver must be fully completed and returned to Lost Coast Excursions (30) days prior to departure date.

Insurance

Every effort is made to ensure you have a safe trip but we recommend purchasing trip cancellation/interruption insurance in the event of unexpected changes in your travel plans. Also recommended is accident, medical, and baggage insurance. Please contact our office for more information on sportsman insurance.
