Why Panama? Panama is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Panama’s real GDP growth was 10.6% in 2011 vs. the United States’ 1.7% GDP growth*. The country’s economic growth can be attributed to the Panama Canal, exports and international banking. Panama is also home to the second largest free trade zone in the world, a booming tourism industry and plentiful natural resources.
